A packed St Matthias Church welcomed The National Youth Choir of Antigua and Barbuda to sing a joint concert with Chorus of Dissent and the Elastic Band.
The concert was performed in the presence of His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, and Lady Williams, the High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda, Her Excellency, Ms Karen-Mae Hill, and Hackney’s Deputy Speaker Cllr Kam Adams.
The audience enjoyed colourful dancers, Chorus of Dissent’s popular Back to Black, and the two choirs coming together for the Hallelujah Chorus under the baton of Ms Hill. Antiguan music teacher Khan Cordice stunned the room with the steel pans before tenor Armen Boldy silenced everyone with the most moving version of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma.
