After more than 25 years working in international news, journalist and photographer Alix Kroeger presents Alix Through the Looking Glass.
Private View: Friday 27 November 2026 at 7pm
Venue: St Matthias Hall, Wordsworth Road, London N16 8DD
This new photographic exhibition invites viewers to walk the line between the familiar and the unfamiliar, the local and the far-flung. From the faded grandeur of a disused Soviet-era spa to the bustling markets of Hackney,
Alix’s background in international journalism has taken her across borders and into different worlds, where she has honed an instinct for observation and an appreciation of the stories that places can tell. These images move beyond travel photography to explore the visual surprises and stories hidden in plain sight.
More recently, Alix has attended photography workshops at the Rencontres d’Arles, the internationally renowned photography festival in the south of France, which offered further inspiration for her photographic practice and her exploration of how images can challenge perceptions and reveal new ways of seeing.
We are privileged to host Alix’s first solo exhibition, as a fundraiser for St Matthias. Framed photos will be on sale at very reasonable cost, making perfect Christmas presents. Event sponsored by Ruth Whitehead Associates.
The private view takes place at 7pm on Friday 27 November 2026 at St Matthias Hall, N16.
