We are calling singers from choirs across London to join our fundraiser concert supporting the Ukrainian refugee effort.
The concert is the culmination of a one-day workshop, starting at 10.30am at our home, the beautiful Grade 1 listed St Matthias Church, Wordsworth Road N16 8DD. The workshop starts at 10.30am, the concert is at 5.30pm on Saturday 9 April 2022.
The programme is the Faure Requiem, Verdi’s Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, and a unique choral and orchestral arrangement of the Great Gate of Kyiv from Moussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Our professional orchestra the Elastic Band will join us in the afternoon with enhanced numbers, and the sound will be glorious.
Subscription donation is £25 for an intensive and enjoyable day for a worthy cause, so please sign up now, by emailing Ruth Whitehead direct on dissentersn16@gmail.com, and she’ll send you details of how to pay, vocal score editions and answer any other questions you may have.
In addition, we’re delighted to announce that the talented Linda Galloway and her Daffodil Soup team will be offering a delicious buffet lunch plus cake and soft drink for an additional £15.
Please send this on to all your friends in other choirs. The more singers we have, the more money we can raise. Channel your horror and despair at what you see on the news into making a small but positive difference in Stoke Newington.
All proceeds will go to the Ukrainian Institute which is working tirelessly to help Ukraine and Ukrainians.
