Chorus of Dissent’s next concert will be on Saturday 9 May 2026 at 5.30pm.
We’re importing sunshine from Italy in the form of our guests, Coro San Martino, the community choir from Roccatederighi in Tuscany. Their conductor, Alessio Pagliai, asked especially that we perform Olla Gjeilo’s Sunshine Mass, and it is our pleasure to do so under his direction.
We also welcome back the ‘feral vocal ensemble’ Lyons Mouth, contributing their own gorgeous a cappella set, plus taking the soloists’ roles in Vaughan Williams’ gorgeous Serenade To Music. This setting of Shakespeare’s words represents a pinnacle of English art, and we can’t wait to perform it on top of a Tuscan hill, when we make our own return trip in June to Roccatederighi.
We also hope for a sprinkling of Italian opera, and eclectic and joyous individual contributions from both choirs. Another absolutely unmissable programme!
