A Baroque evening of food and wine by chef and writer Linda Galloway to welcome the new harpsichord to St Matthias, with live after-dinner entertainment featuring our newest instrument.
Join us for an informal gathering of like-minded people around the dinner table to enjoy great food, company and conversation. Add in the Dissenters trademark musical interlude and you’re on to a winning evening of food AND music.
Our next supperclub, the Boudicca Banquet, takes all the best elements from the Baroque dining era, updated for the 21st century. Many new foods were introduced to European dining tables during that time including potatoes, chocolate and spices, and sweet and savoury were often combined. Cutlery was still a novelty and food was mostly eaten with fingers, using the table cloth as a napkin!
With the refinements of napkins and cutlery we will present a feast for the senses with dishes that include smoked fish, soup, game pies and vegetables and conclude with fruit, cheeses and moulded jellies, followed by the wonderful sounds of Boudicca and a merry band of musicians.
Vegans and vegetarians will be catered for (please specify any dietary requirements in the notes section when booking).
The bar opens at 7pm, food from 7.30, entertainment from 9pm.
